This magnificent opportunity is for 11 nights cruise from Athens to Cannes, with add-on options in both Athens to start and Cannes/Monaco before heading home.. Along the way you'll be entertained and pampered with the sights, and the "sounds" of our journey. We'll have the opportunities to listen to the waves that gentle roll up onto a nice secluded beach, the sounds of local conversations as we stroll through picturesque villages, fantastic shops and the sounds of the "fast cars" during a premier race that is world renown, the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix, a highlight of the Formula 1 season held on the Circuit de Monaco. And for those who enjoy the movies, an opportunity to attend the final two days of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. All of above and way more!
The 11 Night "Cruise Itinerary"
Nice this itinerary! You'll fly into Athens Greece and if you like plan an add-on of 3 nights to visit all the sites of Athens, as well as some outlying areas of interest. From there we'll sail away and visit 11 different destinations and enjoy one relaxing day at sea. I say relaxing, but if you like to burn off some energy you can always join me in climbing the mast, and dancing in the evenings you will enjoy it! The stops along the way are very scenic and I have plans to keep you entertained, bring a smile and race jersey!

From the shore, it's a big rock sticking out into the sea. Then you pass over the causeway, and through an iron fortress gate, and suddenly, the town of Monemvasia is before you, a perfectly preserved Byzantine fortified port, once 60,000 strong, now home to just a few hundred. You can readily see why the name Monemvasia means single entrance! In the rocky hills above, ancient Byzantine ruins loom over the town, while below a maze of red tiled
roofs and twisting alleys hide tavernas and cafes and the home of revered Greek poet Yannis Ritsos.

Barreling under full sail through the narrow Strait of Messina past Scylla and Charybdis, where rock and whirlpool almost claimed Ulysses, you arrive in lovely Taormina. Perched on the shoulder of Mt. Etna, Taormina inspired Goethe to say that It is the greatest work of art and nature.'

Porto Cervo in the heart of Costa Smeralda is a luxury destination that plays host to many celebrities and VIPs throughout the peak summer season. There are plenty of fine restaurants and luxury boutiques and the village has been described as utopian with architectural influences from Greece, North Africa, Spain and Italy.

Napoleon once said that he could recognize his native island blindfolded because of the wonderful perfume of the maquis. Approaching by sea, it is the first thing you experience about Corsica. The second is its wild and mountainous landscape. Nearby are secluded beaches and the eerie Grottes des Veaux Marins, offering fantastic diving opportunities.

Monaco is the fabled domain of princes and movie stars. The magnificent Palais du Prince and opulent casinos remind you of an elegant, pre-war era. With more wealth concentrated in one small area than almost any place on earth, this tiny principality retains its gilt edged allure.

This "Grand Voyage" is a "combination" of two cruises that works great to get the most for our longer flight, a savings over two cruises, and being able to add on extra time in Athens and Rome.
